Voting 2
I've said many time that the most powerful words in politics are "And then what?"
It applies to voting too. "I voted." Okay, great. And then what?
You took your hands off the wheel and stopped paying attention for another two or four years?
Or you stayed involved and aware? You wrote your elected officials? You read the news carefully, and with a healthy skepticism? You participated in civic engagement that required more than filling in an oval twice a decade?
If it feels like your vote doesn't mean anything, that's probably because it only lasts a fleeting second, and you don't back it up with anything.
Pay attention. Stay involved. That's how you really make your vote count.
