Simple Gifts

The imagination is an amazing thing.  Especially for a kid who doesn't have many friends, or can't see them during the pandemic.

A football can be a football.  Or a spaceship.  Or a monster.  Or a pirate ship.  Or a puppet. 

But after a time, the imagination needs to be recharged.  It needs to be inspired by something new. 

Even the best dreams can get old. 

Most American kids have far more toys than they could ever need.  I'm not saying "too many" - that's not my call to make. 

I'm just saying the gap between 0 and 1 toy is far, far bigger than the gap between 1 and 50 toys.

That's why every child deserves one new toy every year.  Yes, deserves.  No matter their location or family income. 

One new toy.  One new fountain of inspiration for the imagination. 

Or maybe don't think of it as a toy.  Think of it as a new set of dreams. 

And you have the power to give that to them.
